At the most recent round of Global Plastics Treat negotiations, world leaders did not reach consensus on measures to address plastic pollution. Reports confirm that over 220 fossil fuel lobbyists were in attendance during the talks.
According to Greenpeace, companies such as Coca-Cola collectively produce over 300 million tonnes of plastic waste each year.
Greenpeace has launched a petition calling for strong action to stop plastic pollution at its source and reduce industry interference in future negotitations.
