A Landmark Project for Brisbane 2032 and Beyond
BEC congratulates our colleagues at Cox Architecture and Hassell on their appointment as Lead Design Consultants for the Brisbane Olympic Stadium, in alliance with Azusa Sekkei.
Planned for Victoria Park, this new 63,000‑seat stadium will serve as the principal venue for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and will evolve into a lasting community asset for Brisbane and Queensland long after the Games conclude.
Design of global calibre with a local legacy
The stadium’s design vision reflects a deep respect for place, blending world‑class architectural excellence with the natural setting of Victoria Park.
Cox Architecture Chair Richard Coulson noted that “the stadium will be of the park and be a catalyst for increasing the connectivity, usability and amenity of Victoria Park.”
Hassell Managing Principal Lucy O’Driscoll added that the project will “deliver a world‑class experience for athletes and fans, while providing Brisbane with a vital piece of sporting infrastructure of true global calibre — a place all Queenslanders will be proud of.”

The inclusion of Blaklash in the consultant team ensures meaningful and ongoing First Nations engagement throughout the project. Their Indigenous‑led guidance will help shape a venue that acknowledges, respects, and celebrates the cultural significance of Country and community.
