Substation 33

Project no. 6838

Substation 33 (SS33) is an incredibly exciting electronic waste recycling business that the BEC team are very proud to be assisting, on a probono basis.  The SS33 building, located in Kingston, is a concrete blockwork, steel portal framed, industrial building. It has a mezzanine loft which the SS33 guys had plans for – which is where we came in.

The loft had previously been used for general storage and was a bit of a mystery – no one knew what it had been designed for and what kind of loads it could take.  The BEC team donated their time and resources to provide structural inspections and design which will allow the space to be used as a ‘collaborative innovation incubator’, a training centre and a couple of therapy/counselling rooms.
