Milford Road Alterations and Additions

BE Collective was commissioned by the developer for alterations and additions to the existing character home in Alderley. Our team worked with S3 architects to realise addition of:
- Double carport with storage
- New bedroom, media room & lounge
- Out-door living room
Our structural documentation was limited to pdf sketch mark-ups plus notes and details sheets to limit consultancy fees.
The framing of different roof levels enable the incorporation of clearstory louvers to the new living room, and a combination of bracing and sway-frames were incorporated at the outer edge of the external room.
Screw piers were specified as an efficient method of achieving ground bearing capacity whilst minimising the adverse effects of a highly-reactive soil. (more…)
