Brutalist Soviet Bus Stops

Brutalism as an architectural style flourished in the second half of the 20th century, probably as a reaction to the light optimistic styles that became popular in the earlier half. Guess what else was flourishing in the second half of the 20th century? That’s right – Soviet Russia.
And while the rest of the world has moved on (politically, architecturally, and by the looks of some of these structures logically?) these bus stops remain. Some of the off-form concrete elements remind us of our work on the Clifftop House with Joe Adsett Architects.
