William McDonough’s Presentation at the World Economic Forum’s 2016 Annual Meeting

ee6ed290a61b9a7816abb51c855725d35fc9d035_1600x1200As sustainability enthusiasts we at BE Collective were thrilled to see William McDonough on the line up as a speaker at the recent World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos.

William McDonough is an author, designer, architect, advisor and sustainability legend! It’s his belief that we can design buildings and environments that adapt and continuously improve over time.

At the event he explored his new ICEhouse™ (Innovation for the Circular Economy house), which aims to embody the design philosophies outlined in his recent books, The Upcycle: Beyond Sustainability—Designing for Abundance and Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things. The vision of McDonough is to create a future in which humanity actively enhances the earth through our building and designing, rather than simply reducing the damage we cause.

Check out McDonough’s recent TED Talk about Cradle to Cradle Design, and don’t forget to watch our Managing Director John Tuxworth’s TEDx Talk about emergency shelter solutions!
