UQ Oral Health Centre, Herston

Project no. 6252

The new University of Queensland Oral Health Centre, is being incorporated into the Royal Women’s Hospital precinct at Herston. The multi-storey reinforced concrete structure is being built by Lend Lease,  who commissioned BE Collective to provide specialist advice relating to the Class of finish for off-form concrete surfaces with respect to AS 3610 Formwork for Concrete. Our John Tuxworth is considered one of a hand-full of  concrete specialists in Brisbane. We undertook forensic inspection of the sub-contractor’s works and identified non-compliant items in relation to face-step tolerance, formwork quality & reuse, propping, fixing and sealing…and even a work-glove cast intoa concrete slab. Our reporting informed contract negotiations.
